In summary, how would I describe the experience at Milan Design Week 2026? Inspirational.

Getting the press accreditations in the middle of the week for the events, being able to look and visit with the people who make this week a success, was nothing short of one wow moment after another. From elaborate large installations to more intimate pop-up spaces and everything in between was the order of the week.

The Design Week is broken into different districts with their own theme and places to visit. Long lines at some of the larger installations, like Louis Vuitton, started early and ran throughout the day. I decided to just narrow my focus to a few districts and walk along and see what the week was about. Design is actually broader than I thought, encompassing not just interior design but fashion, style, automobiles, and just the celebration of the design theme. Visiting familiar places and people I know from the fashion seasons, I got a more intimate look into the week. Milan celebrates the facets of design, and it is proudly celebrated culturally in Milan.

People from all over the world come to Milan for design week to celebrate ideas, visit, and do business with the design works. Mostly during the week, the gallery is attended by clients, professionals, and journalists; on weekends, the public comes to see the works.

Crowded spaces, busy restaurants, and shops surround the event, as culturally, this is a highly regarded event in Italy. The styles reflect ingenuity, contemporary style, classic style, and, of course, an artistic look into the living spaces we all occupy. Highlights included seeing art and fashion come together in balance with design, something that inspired me at every step.

In summary, words cannot describe the poetry, the smells, the colours, the warmth, and the mood of how this event takes your hand and lets you play with the imagination of the spaces we all live in. I absolutely look forward to going again and feeling the true cultural bliss that is Milan Design Week!
